Bell Road Wastewater Renewal

Work is underway. It will take approximately two months to complete, from February to April 2023. Hours of work will generally be 7am-6pm Monday to Friday.
What are we doing?
We're renewing a damaged wastewater pipe that crosses under Waiwhetu Stream alongside Bell Road. No wastewater has been getting into the environment as a temporary over pumping system has been in place diverting flows from the pipe.
The renewal works will have minimal impact on the environment with the use of directional drilling to install a new pipe under the river.
Road safety during the work
The safety of pedestrians, cyclists, road users and contractors are our number one priority. While we carry out the work, we will need to reduce Quadrant Drive to a single lane, with Give Way signage in place.
