Gracefield Reservoir is offline

Wellington Water advises that the Gracefield Reservoir has been temporarily closed after a visual inspection on Wednesday.

This follows the discovery of broken and dislodged concrete next to the reservoir.

The closure of the reservoir is a precautionary measure as we await a more detailed assessment to be undertaken by structural engineers. The immediate site has been fenced off.

In the meantime, there is no impact on supply of drinking water to the community, which continues from other storage reservoirs in the network.
