All Martinborough residents and businesses are urged to conserve water

Update 4.30pm

Repairs at the treatment plant have been successful, and we are currently working to bring the plant back online.

Thanks again to the residents of Martinborough for their conservation efforts so far. We continue to ask residents to keep their conservation efforts up through the weekend until Monday to assist with reservoir recovery.

Showering and washing clothes is okay, however please keep your showers short and only run full loads of washing.

Update 12pm

We have been working on an upgrade to the Martinborough water treatment plant and the work has taken longer than planned.

We are making urgent repairs to get the plant back online. This means the supply to residents and businesses is limited throughout the town. Water should only be used for drinking, cooking and hygiene.

We ask that you avoid showers and baths, running washing machines and dishwashers, and avoid garden watering.

We thank you from your patience during this time.

Update 10am
We have been working on an upgrade to the Martinborough water treatment plant and the work has taken longer than planned. As a result the reservoir is currently running low, so please conserve your water the morning of Thursday 1 October, for example: shorter showers and turning off the tap whilst brushing your teeth.

We have arranged water tankers to top up the reservoir this morning. Updates to follow via Wellington Water’s Facebook page.
