We’re replacing the drinking water pipe along the length of Bristol Street, Upper Hutt. We’ll also install a new rider main (a secondary pipe which runs along the other side of the road and connects to properties) and new laterals (pipes which connect people’s house to the public water network).

To help protect the established street trees along Bristol Street, we're working with an arborist and using hydro excavation techniques in sensitive areas. This method allows us to safely expose underground services and tree roots, helping to minimise impacts on the trees during construction.

This work is part of our commitment to reduce leaks and improving the resilience of our networks.

The work is due to be finished in October/November 2026.
